Women In Technology – Nigeria
As the world celebrates women all over the world today, it is important that we balance some sectors by giving them a voice to be in the helm of affairs of various sectors. With that been said, women deserve to take a spot in technology as well. All over the world today, I have noticed how women from other developed countries take active part in the technological aspect of affairs and, this makes me begin to wonder if Nigerian women are left out of this great section. Well, No, they are not left out because we have women who are engineers and even computer programmers today. They go head logged in with the male counterpart now in programming the web, graphic designing, and even in robotics creation today.
There is an organization actually dedicated to women known as Women in Technology socio economic empowerment program and this women hold various meetings on how to engage more of their mates who have that desire or passion to create impact in the socio economic spheres of the country. As they celebrate the International women’s day i will like to encourage them to get more active in technology and also strive to gather the younger women to get involved in this sector so that it strikes a balance in the work force of the country. I like for the fact that women have taking this stride to get involved in doing what the male counterpart are doing. This is really amazing and it shows that what men can do, women can also do it better.
Recently a school in Nigeria represented by young girls went for an international competition and they took the first price in that competition. That shows that the right knowledge and information needs to be passed to women to get them up and running at an early stage in life.
